• What types of concerns can laser treatments address?

  Our light & energy therapy treatments can target multiple skin concerns, including uneven pigmentation and sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne and acne scarring, enlarged pores, skin laxity, textural irregularities, or unwanted hair. • What is ablative and non-ablative laser technology?

  Ablative lasers remove the skin's outer layer to trigger deeper renewal, making them ideal for concerns like texture, scarring, and more advanced aging. These treatments often involve more downtime. Non-ablative lasers heat the deeper layers without damaging the surface, offering more gradual results with minimal recovery. Halo uses ablative technology for advanced resurfacing, while LaseMD (and the non-ablative component of Halo) support collagen stimulation with less surface disruption. Your provider will help guide you toward the best option based on your goals and schedule.

• What is photothermolysis?

  Fractional lasers treat a fraction of the skin at a time, creating microscopic columns or channels while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This approach allows the skin to heal faster and supports collagen renewal with less downtime than fully ablative treatments. Some of our laser treatments at Nuey (including Halo) use fractional technology to deliver visible results while keeping recovery time manageable.

• Is there any downtime?

  Downtime varies based on the type and intensity of treatment. Lighter options, like BBL HERO and LaseMD, usually involve mild redness or sensitivity for a few days, with some darkening or flaking of pigment as it lifts from the skin. More intensive treatments (like Halo) may involve a few days of redness, swelling, and skin shedding as your skin renews. Your provider will give you personalized guidance on what to expect and how to care for your skin post-treatment.

• Are laser treatments safe for all skin types?
